Casteller

Hoy me he estrenado como Casteller. Alentado por Manel, ex-compañero del Fórum Tecnológico y un Casteller de toda la vida al que no veía desde el maratón de Barcelona, he aportado mi granito de arena a la consecución de los magníficos Castells que se han levantado hoy en una histórica Diada Castellera de la Merçè (fiesta mayor de Barcelona).

La experiencia de formar "pinya" ha sido muy emotiva pero también un poco dolorosa pues en el último Castell (un pilar de 8 con "folre" y "manillas") el "Cap de colla" nos ha metido a Manel y a mí bajo el "folre" y el Casteller que tenía encima me ha destrozado las cervicales.

Debo decir que si bien la Sardana me aburre (nada que ver con el tango o las sevillanas) para mí los Castells son una de las expresiones más emotivas y genuinas de la cultura catalana. En un Castell todos tienen cabida (niños, mayores, hombres, mujeres) y es la unión de todos en pro de un mismo objetivo, el levantamiento de un pueblo para alcanzar el cielo. Recomiendo encarecidamente participar en una Diada Castellera, es una experiencia conmovedora.

"Entre tots ho farem tot" dicta el lema Casteller y como dijo Anselm Clavé:
"Força, Equilibri, Valor i Seny".

Sé que a alguns no us agradarà massa que publiqui aquest post en castellà però m'agradaria que els amics de fora de Catalunya entenguin aquesta tradició castellera que tant estimo. Realment sona molt extrany "los Castellers" pero prefereixo que tots ho entenguin.

Los castells (castillos) son una manifestación cultural propia de Catalunya que consiste en levantar construcciones humanas. Los orígenes de esta tradición se remontan a finales del siglo XVIII en Valls, una población catalana que sigue siendo muy Castellera.

Si quieres más información puedes consultar wikipedia donde se explican las partes de un Castell (la pinya, la torre, el folre, les manilles, etc.) y podrás saber que al niño que sube a lo alto se le llama “anxaneta” (de pequeño soñaba en ser anxaneta…).

Pero lo mejor es verlos en directo, las actuaciones de castells se suelen llevar a cabo al mediodía del domingo, en la plaza del Ayuntamiento de casa ciudad, como uno de los principales actos de la Fiesta mayor.
